Perinatal Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder vs. Postpartum Psychosis

This webinar featuring Gina Abbondante, MSW, LCSW, Founder & Clinical Director at Change of Mind Counseling Services, LLC, will explore these two challenging disorders and help providers feel more prepared to distinguish the diagnoses. Perinatal Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and Postpartum Psychosis are two of the most highly stigmatized maternal mental health disorders. Perinatal OCD often comes with violent and disturbing thoughts and mental images, which can be misdiagnosed as Postpartum Psychosis. Seventy percent of intrusive, harmful thoughts in perinatal individuals are misdiagnosed, with thirty percent of those harmful thoughts being diagnosed as Postpartum Psychosis. In this webinar, we will explore these two challenging disorders and help providers feel more prepared to distinguish the diagnoses.
