SUMMARY:Perinatal Mental Health in the Case of Neonatal or Fetal Anomaly Diagnosis
DESCRIPTION:Live Webinar in honor of NICU Awareness Month\nThis training focuses on the unique emotional\, psychological\, and relational impacts of fetal or neonatal diagnosis and disability on parents and caregivers. Participants will learn how grief\, trauma\, anxiety\, and identity shifts may emerge alongside medical decision-making and ongoing care. Emphasis is placed on compassionate communication\, anticipatory guidance\, and trauma-responsive support that centers family resilience and long-term mental health outcomes. \nPresenter: Kara Kushnir\, LCSW\, PMH-C\, Founder and Clinical Director of A Work of Heart Counseling \nTarget Audience: Perinatal nurses\, counselors\, social workers\, and other support staff. \nLearning Outcome: At the conclusion of the program\, participants will report an increase in their understanding of the emotional and psychological impacts of fetal or neonatal diagnosis and disability\, as well as their confidence in providing compassionate\, trauma‑responsive support to families. \nDisclosure/Commercial Support: The planners and speaker do not have any conflicts of interest to report for this activity. There is no commercial support for this activity. \nSuccessful Completion: To receive contact hours for attending this program\, the registrant must join the webinar\, complete the pretest\, attend the entire presentation\, and complete and submit a post-test and evaluation.
