SUMMARY:Live Webinar - Improving Immunization Rates Among Children and Adolescents
DESCRIPTION:In honor of National Immunization Awareness Month\, this professional education webinar will provide an overview of childhood immunization and disease rates. There will also be a discussion of vaccine hesitancy and strong vaccine recommendations. In addition\, the New Jersey Immunization Information System will provide information about the system and the Docket app\, explain the enrollment process for providers\, and discuss troubleshooting for commonly identified issues. \nPresenters:  \nJoseph V. SUMMARY:Professional Workshop: Overcoming Lactation Barriers
DESCRIPTION:Conference and Networking Event\nLactating parents and families often encounter unexpected barriers during the first days\, weeks\, and months of lactation; knowledgeable and compassionate support providers play an essential role in overcoming these challenges. This conference will provide lactation consultants\, breastfeeding counselors\, Mother Baby nurses\, nurse home visitors\, doulas\, and other professionals with knowledge and resources to best support families during their lactation journey. \nTarget Audience: Nurses\, lactation consultants and counselors\, doulas \nContinuing Nursing Education Contact Hours: The program has been awarded 3.5 contact hours. There is no commercial support for this activity. \nSPEAKERS\nPooja Shah\, PharmD\, BCPPS\, Rutgers\, University\, The State University of New Jersey    \nDr. Shah is a Clinical Associate Professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers\, The State University of New Jersey and a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric Pharmacotherapy at the Joseph M Sanzari Children’s Hospital at Hackensack University Medical Center. She received her Doctorate in Pharmacy at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University\, completed her PGY-1 at Hackensack University Medical Center\, and PGY-2 in Pediatrics at the University of Chicago in Illinois. She is currently an active member of the Pediatric Pharmacy Advocacy Group. \nAllyson Murphy\, BS\, IBCLC\, Lactation Ally \nAllyson has been a lactation consultant for seven years. Through her private practice\, Lactation Ally\, she offers home visits to help postpartum families reach their feeding goals. She also created an online\, self-paced prenatal course called The Breastfeeding Class. With a passion for building inclusive communities\, Allyson runs a weekly in-person Postpartum Support Circle in Maplewood\, NJ. \n Carmen Baker-Clark\, BA\, IBCLC\, RLC\, CarePoint Health\, Hoboken University Medical Center \nCarmen is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and the Manager of CarePoint Health\, Hoboken University Medical Center’s Lactation Program. She has been helping moms breastfeed their babies since 1998\, first as a La Leche League Leader and working in private practice doing home visits as an IBCLC since 2005. She has a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University in Art and Archaeology. \n Mackieba Reyes\, IBCLC\, LPN\, University Hospital \nMackieba is a lactation consultant at University Hospital in Newark\, NJ. She has extensive experience providing breastfeeding services in both the community and inpatient hospital settings. She helped to achieve the USDA Loving Support of Breastfeeding Excellence Awards at two WIC agencies and assisted University Hospital in becoming the first Baby Friendly Hospital in Essex County\, as well as achieving redesignation in 2023. In addition\, Mackieba achieved the 2023 IBCLC Care Award for University Hospital. \nCost: This conference is $65.
