DESCRIPTION:In-Person Presentation during the Essex Metro Immunization Coalition (EMIC) Meeting \nThis presentation during the Essex Metro Immunization Coalition (EMIC) Meeting will feature two expert speakers who will delve into critical aspects of Hepatitis B management. The first presentation will focus on perinatal Hepatitis B infection\, addressing its clinical presentation\, long-term complications\, transmission\, and identification\, particularly in pregnant individuals and newborns. Attendees will gain insights into treatment and prevention strategies to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with this often silent yet dangerous infection. The second presentation will provide updates on Hepatitis B vaccination\, new immunization research\, and clinical trials\, with a particular focus on individuals living with both HIV and Hepatitis B. This comprehensive discussion will help healthcare professionals enhance their understanding of these critical issues. \nTarget Audience: Nurses\, Physicians\, Community Health Workers\, Health Educators \nPresenters: \nJoseph V. SUMMARY:Family Connects NJ: An Overview for Healthcare Professionals
DESCRIPTION:Family Connects NJ\, a program funded by the New Jersey Department of Children and Families\, is a new program that connects parents with a specially trained nurse for a personalized follow-up visit at home within the first two weeks after their child’s birth. Visits are offered to all families at no cost\, regardless of income\, insurance or immigration status.  By 2027\, all New Jersey residents will be eligible for this innovative program.  Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey staff will discuss the Family Connects NJ Program in northern New Jersey. Since January 2024\, the program has supported birthing families across Essex County.  This webinar will highlight the program goals and outcomes and share how healthcare professionals can refer families as the initiative expands to Bergen\, Hudson\, Passaic\, and Sussex counties in 2025.  This webinar is for healthcare professionals.
