DESCRIPTION:Live Webinar\nPunitive drug and child welfare policies mean that pregnant or parenting people who use drugs are less likely to access prenatal and postnatal care. When they do\, they encounter unique forms of stigma\, discrimination\, and legal challenges. This webinar\, based on the Creating safe care: supporting pregnant and parenting patients who use drugs toolkit\, aims to equip healthcare providers with the knowledge and tools they need to support pregnant and parenting people who use drugs\, and provide information and resources for engaging with child welfare services. It highlights the health and social needs of pregnant and parenting people who use drugs\, and offers strategies grounded in racial equity\, compassion\, and harm reduction principles. \nTarget Audience: Nurses\, Physicians\, Midwives\, and Social Workers \nPresenters: \nMichelle Adyniec\, RN\, BSN\, Associate Clinical Director of Care Management and Redesign Initiatives\, Camden Coalition \nLaura Sorensen\, MSW\, Associate Director for Harm Reduction Programs\, Camden Coalition \nLearning Outcome: At the conclusion of the program\, at least 90% of participants will report that the knowledge gained met their learning needs.  \nDisclosure/Commercial Support: The planners and speakers do not have any conflicts of interest to report for this activity. \nContinuing Nursing Education Contact Hours: This program has been awarded 1.5 contact hours.
