SUMMARY:Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders Across the Lifespan: Strengthening Best Care and Support for Families
DESCRIPTION:This event is sold out. Please contact ProfEd@pmch.org to be added to the waitlist.  \nIn-Person Conference \nThis conference will explore how Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) affect individuals and families across the lifespan. Participants will learn about the importance of early diagnosis and how delays in identification can create challenges in care\, including during interactions with the justice system. The sessions will offer practical\, skill‑building approaches to improving screening\, strengthening education\, and enhancing support for families raising children with FASD at every stage of life. \nTarget Audience: Nurses\, Social Workers\, Patient Navigators\, Police Officers\, Addiction Counselors\, School Personnel\, Early Childhood Providers\, Case Workers\, Family Support Professionals\, and other professionals working with families affected by FASD. \nDisclosures: None of the speakers or planners for this educational activity have relevant financial relationship(s) to disclosure with ineligible companies whose primary business is producing\, marketing\, selling\, re-selling\, or distributing healthcare products used by or on patients. One of the planning committee members. There is no commercial support for this activity. \nContinuing Nursing Education Contact Hours: This live program has been awarded 3.5 contact hours. The Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by New Jersey State Nurses Association\, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. P194-4/26-29.                                Approval status does not imply endorsement by the Partnership for Maternal and Child Health of Northern New Jersey\, NJSNA or by ANCC of any commercial products discussed/displayed in conjunction with the educational activity. \nSuccessful Completion: To receive contact hours for attending the continuing education program\, the attendee must register for the program\, attend the entire program\, and complete and submit an electronic evaluation within two weeks. Your certificate of completion will be distributed within two weeks of the live program.  \nThree months after the live program\, attendees will be asked to complete an online follow-up survey to assess the long-term impact of the education provided. \nLearning Outcomes: After attending the program\, 90% of learners will report intent to incorporate information presented into their professional practice. Three months after the program\, 75% of attendees will report having incorporated the information into professional practice. \nCost: Free.
