Early Childhood

Literacy Program

A newborn’s brain doubles in size in the first year, growing nearly 80% of adult size by age three. Research has shown that a child’s experiences in these early years directly affect how the brain develops.

The Partnership works to provide education to families in Essex County who are pregnant or have a baby from newborn to 3 years old on the importance of exposing children during these fundamental years to language and vocabulary.
