Primary and secondary syphilis rates among people of childbearing age continue to rise in New Jersey, leading to high rates of congenital syphilis. For pregnant people seeking treatment for substance use disorder, linkage to prenatal care and testing for syphilis are key interventions to
decrease congenital syphilis. This webinar will explore best practices in coordination of care among maternal health care providers and substance use treatment services.

Natalie E. Roche, MD is the Director of the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Health at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and is faculty in the Addiction Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Roche is board- certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Addictions Medicine.
Margaret B. Rizzo has been employed with JSAS HealthCare, Inc. in various positions since 1991 and currently serves as the agency’s Executive Director. Ms. Rizzo has served as chairperson of the Monmouth County Office of Addiction Services’ Treatment Planning Committee and as a member of the Monmouth County Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services’ Professional Advisory Committee.
