A Week of Impact in Dover and Irvington

Across our region, an increasing number of families are facing the severe impact of food insecurity and hunger. At the Partnership, we remain committed to ensuring that families thrive. We believe everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food—and thanks to our generous donors and dedicated partners, we’re making a real impact in Irvington and Dover.

Last week, our Excellence Family Success Center saw an extraordinary turnout at our monthly farmers market, in collaboration with Zufall Health’s SNAP Ed program, LocalShare, Sacred Heart Church, and Table to Table, which provided fresh produce and pantry staples to over 300 families — a number well above our usual monthly demand. Our incredible volunteers welcomed new attendees with warmth and ensured every family left with an abundance of food and support.

Meanwhile, in Irvington, the Unity Family Success Center, with support from our FELLAS team, distributed fresh fruits and vegetables to more than 150 families. This effort was made possible through our partnership with the Irvington Neighborhood Improvement Corporation and the Urban Agriculture Cooperative, who helped us meet the growing need in the community.

We sincerely appreciate our exceptional partners, volunteers, and donors who make these events a reality. Their dedication ensures families receive nourishing food while also feeling supported, connected to resources, and empowered within the community.

Our monthly farmers’ markets in Dover and Irvington are vibrant community gatherings where neighbors connect and access helpful resources. These events offer:
  • Fresh, seasonal produce and pantry staples at no cost
  • Nutrition education and cooking tips from SNAP Ed educators
  • Connections to local services, including health screenings and family support
  • Volunteer opportunities that foster civic engagement and community pride

Our markets aim to support both immediate needs and long-term resilience by expanding access to nutritious food. When families have reliable choices, it strengthens the well-being of the entire community. Our work is far from over. As we continue to respond to the growing demand, we will continue to share community resources, working to ensure that all families thrive.
