Live Webinar – Evidence-Based Approaches to Lactation in Substance Use Disorders
This program will explore evidence-informed approaches toward supporting lactation in the context of substance use disorders and recovery. Participants will gain practical tools – rooted in harm reduction, evidence-based medicine, and trauma-informed care to design and implement hospital protocols, effectively counsel patients, and promote realistic and patient-centered decision-making for parents affected by substance use disorders (SUDs).
Speaker
Mollie Nisen, MD, FASAM, is a board-certified Family and Addiction medicine physician. She completed her family medicine residency and addiction medicine fellowship at Swedish Medical Center in Seattle, where she honed an interest in the intersection between addiction care and reproductive justice. Dr. Nisen currently works at the Cooper University Center for Healing, where she leads specialized programming for perinatal/parenting with SUDs. With a background in community organizing, Dr. Nisen strives to ground her clinical work in social justice and antiracist praxi.
Target Audience: Nurses, physicians, and other professionals in the healthcare setting
Learning Outcome: At the conclusion of the program, participants will self‑report increased knowledge of evidence‑informed, harm‑reduction and trauma‑informed approaches to supporting lactation among parents affected by SUDs.

Successful Completion: To receive contact hours for participating in the continuing education program, the registrant must join the webinar, attend the entire presentation, and complete and submit an electronic evaluation. A certificate of completion will be distributed within two weeks of submission of the evaluation.
