Meningitis Prevention at a Crossroads: Policy Changes, Real Lives, and Local Action

Virtual Presentation during the Essex Metro Immunization Coalition (EMIC) Meeting 

The American Society for Meningitis Prevention (ASMP) will join EMIC to highlight the human impact of meningococcal meningitis through powerful personal stories from families affected by the disease, underscoring the critical importance of timely vaccination. Participants will gain a clear, practical overview of meningococcal meningitis, including how it spreads, potential outcomes, and proven prevention strategies, with a focus on currently available meningococcal vaccines. The session will conclude by sharing resources and partnership opportunities with ASMP to support and amplify local meningococcal meningitis prevention and education campaigns.
