Perinatal Mental Health in the Case of Neonatal or Fetal Anomaly Diagnosis

This training focuses on the unique emotional, psychological, and relational impacts of fetal or neonatal diagnosis and disability on parents and caregivers. Participants will learn how grief, trauma, anxiety, and identity shifts may emerge alongside medical decision-making and ongoing care. Emphasis is placed on compassionate communication, anticipatory guidance, and trauma-responsive support that centers family resilience and long-term mental health outcomes.

Target Audience: Perinatal nurses, counselors, social workers, and other support staff.
Learning Outcome: At the conclusion of the program, participants will report an increase in their understanding of the emotional and psychological impacts of fetal or neonatal diagnosis and disability, as well as their confidence in providing compassionate, trauma‑responsive support to families.
