On-Demand Webinar – Reducing the Risk of Sudden Unexpected Infant Death: A Guide for Healthcare Providers

This recorded on-demand program is an opportunity for nurses and other health professionals who work with families to learn the updated safe sleep guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics to reduce the risk of SIDS and other sleep-related infant deaths.

After attending this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Define Sudden Unexpected Infant Death
  • State the established risk factors and risk-reducing practices
  • Describe AAP 2022 updates

Speaker: Barbara M. Ostfeld, Ph.D., is a Professor of Pediatrics at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School – Rutgers University and Program Director of the SIDS Center of New Jersey, which she helped establish in 1987. She is a nationally recognized expert on Sudden Unexpected Infant Death, and her research contributed to the safe infant sleep policies of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Target Audience: Perinatal and Pediatric Nurses

Learning Outcome: At the conclusion of the program, the participants will self-report knowledge gained related to risk-reducing practices for Sudden Unexpected Infant Death and intent to change practice by incorporating methods for reducing risks into professional practice.
