Mariekarl Vilceus-Talty

MA, BSN, NE-BC, LNC

President and CEO

Mariekarl Vilceus-Talty assumed the role of President and CEO in February 2021. Ms. Vilceus-Talty previously served on the Partnership’s Board of Trustees. As the Education Committee Chair, she directed the organization’s professional and community education objectives.

Ms. Vilceus-Talty is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 20 years of direct nursing and leadership experience. Mariekarl began her nursing career in labor and delivery at Queens Hospital Center in Queens, NY, and quickly rose to supervisory positions. Most recently, she was the Senior Director of Nursing and Patient Experience at Jersey City Medical Center – RWJBarnabas Health. Mariekarl oversaw a team of 700 employees and focused on patient safety and improving care.  Ms. Vilceus-Talty received an MA in Nurse Executive from Columbia University and a BS in Nursing from Adelphi University.

Mariekarl is passionate about improving maternal health outcomes with a strong emphasis on improving health equity, advancing social justice, and preventing human trafficking. She has been recognized for her stellar work in maternal health and commitment to excellence numerous times, including the several March of Dimes’ Nurse Leader of the Year nominations, recipient the March of Dimes’ 2010 Maternal Child Health Award for Clinical Excellence, the 2017 Leadership in Simulation Award, and the 2015 Jersey City Medical Center Nurse Excellence Award – Transformational Leader.

Mariekarl is an avid participant in peer groups and community organizations. She is a member of the American Nurses Association (ANA), American Association of Nurse Executives (AONE), Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), the Haitian American Nurses Association of Greater New York (HANA), Organization of Nurse Leaders (ONL), and the Honor Society of Nursing Sigma Theta Tau (STTI) – Columbia University Alpha Zeta Chapter.

Mariekarl’s commitment to public health spans internationally. She serves as the Chairwoman of Mission Granbois, a private non-profit foundation started in 2009 by her family. The organization’s mission is to change the narrative of the Granbois community through education, health, and financial literacy.
